New Moon in Gemini
July 13, 2018

By Kim Lovelace

There is a partial Solar Eclipse taking place as our New Moon begins in Gemini. Apart from that, this New Moon is also a Super Moon which intensifies the planetary energies that are coming in. Gemini is ruled by the Planet Mercury which is all about the mind, the way we think, the way we communicate, our ideas and our ability to be resourceful. The thing to watch out for with the Moon in Gemini is being emotionally detached. Gemini tends to live more in their heads than their hearts and this New Moon indicates strongly that a balance is needed between the two.

The New Moon begins in Gemini on the 13th July 2018 at 03:47 GMT and in New York on the 12th July 2018 at 10:47 EDT.

We have two T.Square's and a Grand Trine this New Moon which is basically a continuation of the intense energy that has been coming in throughout the previous Moon Cycle and Summer Solstice. The vibes have been very heavy and this has created a lot of nervous energy, impatience and apprehension, especially in the areas of our relationships; personal, professional and political. So much is happening at such a fast and erratic rate that most of us are probably feeling exhausted, unmotivated and uncertain of what the future holds.

The Grand Trine involves our New Moon, Sun, Neptune and Jupiter. Although Trines are considered relaxing and easy, they also signify a tendency for us to rest on our laurels and take things for granted, but this does not allow us to grow and learn from experience, therefore when the shit hits the fan it is often a fall from a great height. Especially when Jupiter and Neptune are involved... The good thing about this particular trine is that it is fantastic for creativity in all its forms and gives us a deeper insight into our spiritual awareness, but it is so important that we protect our Aura's and stay grounded as well. We must follow our own minds and our own hearts, we must not allow ourselves to idealise others over ourselves.

The first T.Square is with Mars Retrograde in opposition to Mercury and both in square to Jupiter. This aspect indicates conflict, abuse, impulsiveness and feeling stuck in destructive situations. Some may be coming to terms with some harsh realisations about the past. If they analyse it from a spiritual perspective then a lot of forward movement can take place. Allowing the Ego to get in the way will only prolong the agony. On a collective level, there may be public uproars for self glorification, or manipulating people to take sides in a dispute. We must not allow ourselves to get caught up in the hype, but at the same time we must not blind ourselves to what is actually occurring. We must hold on to our faith and our spiritual values in a testing time. There is only 'One God': The Creator of the Universe who loves us unconditionally, without judgement.

The second T.Square is with Mars Retrograde (again) in opposition to the North Node and both in square to Uranus. There is a great need for us to break free of restrictions that are not for our highest and best, but at the same time be aware that any reckless or impulsive actions will only lead us back full circle into the entrapment that we are trying to free ourselves from... We MUST work towards bringing balance into our lives by building on our inner strength and standing firm with our spiritual values. Brawn and Ego will only lead us into self destruction and conflict. We must move forward in our lives with the confidence and faith that we are doing the right thing.

Relationships are still under a lot of pressure due to control issues and neediness, some are waking up to the reality of just how trapped they have been in a never ending cycle of negativity or manipulation, where our obligations or lack of self esteem has blocked us from seeing the bigger picture. We must keep ourselves uplifted and face the truth of our situations with a balanced heart and mind, this is not an easy thing to do as the Black Moon Lilith and Pluto in Opposition to our Sun and New Moon create explosive reactions and overwhelming emotions. The Gemini Moon tends to make us emotionally detached where we just cant get a grip on how we feel, what we truly want and most of all how to find our inner peace. For some, time in solitude will be very healing and bring in the clarity and healing that is needed.

We are being given a small opportunity in a time of chaos and confusion, to be both empathetic and powerful. Let go of unrealistic expectations, love unconditionally without the need to be recognised for it. Allow relationships to end that our not serving our highest and best, but most of all, although we may feel burdened by heavy responsibilities we must lighten our load and realise that it's just a way of thinking that blocks us from finding the inner peace happiness we so desire.

For this New Moon I recommend that we meditate on all our Chakras, paying special attention to them all. Burn a white candle and Frankincense and myrrh Incense to encourage wisdom, unconditional love and self enlightenment. We must also cleanse our environments with prayer, salt and Lemons. Chanting, singing, writing, painting or crafting, will help us to release pent up emotions and uplift our spirits. working with the earth and spending time in nature will help to keep us grounded.

Use the affirmation:

I am letting go of all situations that do not serve the highest and best of me. I am at peace and ready to embrace my future with faith, unconditional love and wisdom. I am blessed.

New Moon in Gemini

By Natalie Miller

Today, Wednesday, July 11th, the Moon enters Gemini which can make us feel like we’re at odds with ourselves. But if we harness the intellectual powers of Gemini, we can use it’s energy to look outside ourselves. The Moon’s sextile aspects with Venus and Uranus assist us in getting outside of our own head, and they will also help us through the Chiron square Moon today.

Tomorrow, Thursday, July 12th, we may be feeling some depression due to the Moon’s opposition to Pluto and The Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius. Remembering to think rationally and looking before we leap will be extra important in the next few days. However, the good news is that the New Moon will occur today, so remember to set your intentions. Harness the intellectual power of the grand trine with Jupiter and Neptune that the New Moon makes. For some this could manifest as extreme avoidance of your potential, and others, a harnessing of it. The choice is yours. Good intentions to set are healing of any negative thought patterns that don’t serve you any more.

Friday, July 13th watch your intentions begin to manifest quickly with the powerful grand trines and oppositions in place today! There is a grand trine with Venus, Saturn, and Uranus right now so don’t be disheartened if relationships that were formed too quickly or just based on circumstance come into question and are put under the microscope.

Saturday July 14th, we see the continuation of the T-square with Jupiter and today the Moon squares Jupiter. The opportunity to have a meaningful day is definitely there as the Moon is conjunct Mercury in opposition to Mars, but with the T-sqaure, we may be feeling less inclined to act and more inclined to judge, as Jupiter is in Libra. Libra’s judgements are oftentimes welcome, but not without the introspection of the Moon and Mercury, and the desire to make real change (Mars). So don’t get stuck up on the mountain alone today in your judgements, instead revel in the very active energy of Mercury and Mars as they manifest your true perspectives.

Retrograde Roundup

Sometimes you just have to take it slow

So what can you say about a transit report that has five retrograde planets—soon to be six? Watch out? Slow down? Stand in place? Be humble? Don’t take anything for granted? Check your oil? Take your vitamins? It's more than a cautionary advice; it's a chance to look back and see the problem. As Tchiya Amet reminds us, "Rx" is not only the astrological symbol of retrograde, but also, not coincidentally, the modern symbol of medicine and healing.

This period, which will run through the end of the year, give or take a planet or two, will illustrate exactly how connected we are to the ambient forces of the Universe. It's a pause, a breather, a warning, a break in the action. We are supposed to take stock of the situation and wait until a better moment to proceed, and correct what is wrong. If our lives are like walking a tightrope, then stopping and regaining our composure in this retrograde is a better strategy than pushing forward when we are off balance.

Eight of Swords

THE KILLER OF DREAMS —- what are you afraid of? is it real? have you actually seen it? have you walked the path? blind folded, restricted, surrounded by swords planted into the ground, your foundation has been marked as a safe haven but is it really? do you not still experience pain where you are? you have no choice but to listen to what stories others have said about what exists outside of this chasm. if this is an illusion how does one break it? will you let the images run ramped within your mind? images that you fear and yet have never seen? is fear worthy of holding you back from your wildest dreams? or your purpose? — FEAR

The Moon in the 13 Signs

By Natalie Miller
To really understand the Moon in astrology one needs to be able to resurrect a sleeping sense of primordial duality.  To me the Moon stands for energy itself.  For example, there are a lot of ingredients that go into making a cake, not the least of which is the heat required to transform it.  This is what the Moon does in astrology, it gets us from point A to point B, it heats us up.  The sign your natal Moon is in will color how your cake rises… in a conventional oven, a big factory, an earthen stove…

The Fall of the House of Trump

The Player's Fall: Noble-Peace-Prize winner Trump (NOT)

Trump is a Taurus with his opposing Moon in Ophiuchus. He is like a white-trash wizard, who can revitalize his followers to jump and shout as if they had got the Holy Spirit in them. Trump's Holy Spirit, however, is the acknowledgment of the cruelty and sadism that lies within his American audience of white "dreamers". Unlike the immigrant dreamers, Trump's supporters don't look for a better future; they dream of the rotten past, when white people were the majority and foreigners were foreign. They dream of the 1950s, when white people were driven like a herd of happy sheep into a cold war; when it was OK to be culturally, sexually, emotionally repressed, with consumerism as the only permitted activity. They dream a stupid, unrealizable dream.

August is a key month for his troubles to beset him; he's likely to suffer public shaming and legal problems, and according to his transits starting in the Spring of 2019, his resignation is a real possibility. MORE

Gemini! Gemini!
said the spider to the fly

June 20-July 20

Geminis are players; they like to play. How could that be bad? Geminis don’t like to lose; they really don’t, and they can go to any extreme to win. Gemini can dazzle, obfuscate, seduce, or coerce with their talking points. Geminis got game, the hip patter, the street cred to talk their way in or out of anything in any language. They are often our most fascinating person, and that's because they agree. Gemini is childhood at its best. They ask a lot of questions. Life is a secret garden for the two celestial twins, one of whom is a boy and the other, a girl; these two opposing elements are yet joined at the hip to explore and play inside the Gemini world. They both share many exemplary qualities, intelligence, vivacity, curiosity; however, they become bored and restless easily, instantly, always needing new and wilder stimuli for the voracious brain, their biological hard disk with all memory. The visceral reaction and trauma that other signs have to this quick-change robs Gemini of friends and lovers. But, after all, they always can make new ones!

A lot of what you learned about your Moon from mainstream astrology is false or misleading. The 12-sign Zodiac doesn't represent the truth. A 13 sign astrology horoscope reveals the facts about your real birth planets and luminaries by finding the right sign and degree. 13-sign astrology also includes the sign Ophiuchus, the goddess of women's power and accomplishments. The 12-sign, tropical view of the horoscope deficient and outdated.

Ophiuchus and her origins

Another vital placement in the horoscope is the The Black Moon and Lilith, which are linked to the dark, hidden extreme in Lunar polarity, the opposite of the lighted moon, our romantic archetype. Again, traditional astrology rarely acknowledges this mysterious influence, and gets the sign wrong.

Ophiuchus and Ether

Yin and Yang

Men are scared of women's power because she stands in the way of their determination to exploit and usurp nature and to deny their own mortality. Women's bodies are the inherent acceptance of natural law, as in their covenant with birth and death. In this dispensation of consciousness, what's good for women is bad for men. Where would men get their slaves and concubines if Ophiuchus was the guide for our imaginations and incantations? Men therefore regard Ophiuchus as a poisonous infection; yet women regard her with reverence and love. Ophiuchus can't and won't alter herself to suit anyone. When this celestial goddess changes form, it's only in the way men and women see her differently, as an aspect of her polarity and a reaction to which of us is in control. Ophiuchus isn't two-faced; it's which face we see when we gaze at her constellation. Men instinctively see her as Medusa, the monster. Women see her as a healer and an advocate. MORE

The Nation of Women

"Medusa" By Hiroko Sakai

Thousands of years ago women dominated human society. They were the clan leaders, hunters, astrologers, warriors and healers. We can only speculate about such antiquity because much of it lies beyond what is actually known or academically supported. However, astrology gives us a clue, since many original Zodiacal archetypes are female and were changed to men or animals by the Greeks and Romans. Ophiuchus, Aries, Leo and Taurus were all originally imagined as female symbols, only to be transmogrified much later into male stereotypes by male astrologers.

Walter Berg
Greatest Living Astrologer

Our 13-sign astrology group is extremely honored and proud to present Walter Berg to our readers. Walter single-handedly created modern 13 sign astrology from years of dogged observation and hand-calculation in the early 1970s. Using astronomical data, he corrected and redefined the over-simplified astrological wheel used by 12-sign astrologers to a 13 sign and 13 house horoscope that updates astrology into the space age.

His tenacity and devotion to the true Zodiac, which resurrected Ophiuchus from a 2,000 year banishment, was a supreme and solitary sacrifice, which put at risk his career in astronomy, and was ignored for decades by astrologers.

Walter also wrote extensively about the effects and meanings of the planets and the signs, not only beautifully expressed, but also creating the most accurate descriptions of the archetypes that we all use in our astrological methodology.

MORE about Walter, plus an exclusive interview.

Women Who Kill

Women pushed past their limits

The confidant, boastful world of men is spinning out of control, and women are fomenting a not-so-silent revolution. The yielding, supportive and suffering female is disappearing, and being replaced by a much more militant version of herself. Their pliant codependency with men has not served them well enough to let it continue, and women have had enough. Women are sifting through the rubble of their hopes and dreams and demanding more of themselves, and more from the men who have sabotaged them for centuries. They won't be willing victims of the system any longer. MORE
